Treat Your Senses! Our Ecolodge is located on the Azuero Peninsula west coast in the Mariato district about a one hour drive south of Santiago, Veraguas and close to several beaches. We invite you to explore the prestine and beautiful western Azuero coastline in Veraguas Province. Heliconia Bed & Breakfast has comfortable accommodations next to our botanical garden, and presents an ideal base for exploring nearby Coiba Island National Park, Cerro Hoya National Park, & Cebaco Island. Birdwatching and other Ecotourism activities are available in the area. The inhabitants of the nearby small fishing village of Malena are devoted to a conservation project, protecting the Sea Turtles which visit to lay their eggs here. A short distance to the south is Torio Beach, popular with the locals on weekends. You will find a wide beach with shallow, warm waters, safe for swimming. There are also a couple of restaurants not far from the beach. Tanager Tourism specialises in Ecology and Community Oriented Tourism and reforestation in Panama.
